Tabstack is designed with a strong focus on data minimization and security, moving only the information necessary for each task and treating all customer data as ephemeral. Page content is used strictly as needed, and by default, any transferred data is purged immediately after use.
As a Mozilla-backed platform, we are committed to responsible, transparent web automation that respects both user privacy and publisher intent. Tabstack is designed to give website owners clear visibility into automated access and meaningful control over how their content is used. Specifically, Tabstack:
- Uses clear identification: All requests include a dedicated Mozilla Tabstack User-Agent, allowing site owners to identify and monitor Tabstack traffic.
- Respects opt-out signals: Robots.txt directives addressed to the Tabstack User-Agent are honored, and content is not fetched from sites that explicitly opt out.
- Does not train on customer data: Retrieved content is treated as ephemeral and is never used by Mozilla for model training.
